O’Kin is a Western Cape-based food manufacturer that produces a range of quality cold meats, whole muscle meats and pre-cooked ready to eat products for supply to South African national retailers, independent retailers and wholesale distributors under the Elim and Swartland brands.
Drawing on a legacy of expertise dating back to the 1940s, O’Kin’s products are produced in a food safety certified manufacturing facility located in Malmesbury, using ethically sourced sow friendly pork products, traditional recipes and natural smoking methods.

BACKGROUND
It all started early in the 1940s, when Julius Roer from Malmesbury and H. Otto from Elim joined their businesses together in Malmesbury selling German deli specialities such as salami, Frankfurters and other cured and cold meats under the Roers and Elim names. In 2013 the Roers plant was changed to O’Kin.
